Nsikak Ekong graduated from Nassau Community College in 2019. He joined the Alumni Association in the spring of 2018 as a student and now serves on the Alumni Association Board as a Director.
During his time at Nassau, Niskak was heavily involved on campus. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper, The Vignette, a member of Haraya (NCC’s Black Student Union), volunteered at the Nest food pantry, played trombone for the Jazz Ensemble, and served as a photographer in the Office of Student Activities taking pictures of various campus events with his trusty camera.
Nsikak currently works at Nassau Community College in the Center for Excellence & Innovation as a GEAR UP Coach. There he is working with incoming freshman guiding them through their first year of college. He hopes to pursue a career in higher education working in student affairs helping students the same way his advisors did for him during his college career.
Nsikak graduated from NCC with an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. He also earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science from State University of New York College of Oswego. He is currently in his first year of graduate school at Stony Brook University working toward a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration.
Outside of his academics, Nsikak is an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 300 where he mentors young men in leadership skills. He is also a member of the Alpha Phi Omega, the National Service Fraternity.
