Dr. Lynnda M. Nadien has been an educator for more than 30 years. She is currently the Principal of Smith Street School in Uniondale, New York, and has been a vital member of the Uniondale School Family for almost 25 years. Dr. Nadien serves as an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Old Westbury, a Board Trustee for the Plain Edge Public Schools, and a proud member of the Alumni Association at SUNY Nassau Community College.
Dr. Nadien firmly believes that every individual can make a difference, by making ‘service’ your signature! An award winning educator, Dr. Nadien is a reading specialist, a golden apple recipient and a mentor. She was named “Principal of the Year” by the Council of Administrators and Supervisors. In April of 2020, she received her Mental Health First Aide Certificate from SUNY Nassau.
Dr. Nadien is also the co-host of “Lion Tales,” a radio show devoted to famed alumni of SUNY Nassau who are interviewed to discuss their many accomplishments. The show has been well received by all alumni and is a part of the SUNY Nassau radio station line up at 90.3 WHPC.
In her personal life, Dr. Nadien has been married to Andrew, a music educator, for 28 years. Together, they have a son James Paul, who is currently a senior in College at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
