A Co-Curricular Partnership
Beginning fall 2021, students enrolled in Nassau Community College (NCC) will be able
to continue earning their associate degrees while living on and being a part of campus
life at Adelphi University–and they’ll have easy access to streamlined transfer pathways
to complete their bachelor’s degrees.
NCC students will have the opportunity to live on Adelphi’s campus and participate
in University activities, while following streamlined transfer pathways for completing
their bachelor’s degrees.
Benefits
The option provides students with the best-of-both-worlds, including affordable tuition
by beginning one’s studies at Nassau Community College while taking advantage of the
four-year co-curricular Adelphi experience which includes:
- The option to live and dine on Adelphi’s campus
- Participation in Adelphi clubs, recreation, and leadership development programs
- Access to the Adelphi community and campus facilities
- On-campus parking at no additional charge
- Early academic advising from the Adelphi Transfer Student Success Team
- Waived transfer application and deposit fees
Costs
There is no cost to participate in the co-curricular activities as part of this program.
NCC students who choose to live on Adelphi’s campus will pay room and board fees applicable
to their housing and meal plan selections. Room and meal plan options can be found
on Adelphi’s housing website along with the Adelphi’s housing and meal plan costs.

This program is open to a limited number of NCC students each year. To learn more,

- How much will the residential aspect of the program cost? Do I have to pay a deposit?

Registered students within Nassau-Adelphi Gateway are required to pay Adelphi's current
standard housing rate for the specified room type and any applicable associated fees,
including the $25.00 Resident Activities Fee. NCC students will pay housing, dining/meal
plan, and residence hall fees to Adelphi University each semester based on the Adelphi
payment schedule for all students.
- Am I required to obtain a meal plan of if I am staying on the Adelphi campus?

Yes, NCC students who live on Adelphi’s campus must obtain a meal plan. There is an
additional fee for the meal plan.
- In addition to the NCC Student Support Services such as the Library, Bookstore, Physical
Education Complex and Computer Labs – will I have access to those facilities at Adelphi?

Yes, if you are living on Adelphi’s campus, you will have access to the same or similar
services.
- How do I apply to the program?

an Adelphi Residence Hall application.
- Would my NCC Financial Aid cover my residential fees with Adelphi?

Financial aid students are encouraged to utilize excess financial aid from NCC to
help pay their housing and meal plan charges at Adelphi. Private and parent PLUS loans
may be available to help fill the gap, typically up to the cost of attendance. Adelphi
also offers an installment plan for these expenses.
- Will there be a shuttle provided between the Adelphi and NCC campus?

Yes, the shuttle will run between both campuses throughout the week.
- Who do I contact with questions about the program?

- Will I work with both NCC and Adelphi advisors throughout the first two years to ensure
my credits are transferrable?

As a registered NCC student you will have access to all of NCC’s Student Support Services
including advising. Additionally, Adelphi will provide NCC students who choose to
apply to Adelphi with access to early academic advising from Adelphi’s transfer student
success team.
- Will I have both an NCC student ID as well as an Adelphi Student ID?

As a student of both NCC and Adelphi you will need to have a Student ID for access
to both campuses and amenities. Directions on how to obtain student ID through NCC
can be found on the College’s NCC ID Card webpage. Directions on how to obtain an Adelphi Student ID can be found on the University’s website.
- What services are provided to residential and non-residential students through this
program?

Through the Nassau-Adelphi Gateway program, Adelphi will provide the following services
for NCC students who choose to live on campus:
- Career Services
- Library Facilities (cannot check out items)
- Center for Recreation and Sports
- Student Organizations
- Student Life Events
- Adelphi/Nassau Gateway/Student Affairs Assigned Mentor
- Adelphi/Nassau Gateway Orientation program
Access to the following services will be available for those who opt not to reside
on campus:

- Will I need parking decals for both campuses?

As a student of both NCC and Adelphi, you will have access to park on the campuses.
You will need a separate parking permit for each school if you plan on parking on
each campus. Directions on how to obtain those can be found on the NCC Vehicle Registration webpage and the Adelphi Website.
