Any student matriculated at Nassau Community College who believes that work experience
or other education has given the student the equivalent knowledge covered by the course
content.
The determination of the award for life experience credit shall be made solely at
the discretion of the Department Committee, one of whose members will have expertise
in the course for which life experience is being sought. The Evaluation Committee's
decision shall be binding and may not be appealed.
The decision will then be forwarded to the Dean of Instruction who will notify the
Registrar to award credit. The student's transcript will show the name of the course
and the number of credits received, but no grade. The Department will notify the student
of the success or failure of the application.
- Recent transcript from the college.
- Three letters from immediate supervisors, general managers, etc. as specified in the
guidelines for life experience must be attached to the application.
- A complete resume.
- A completed application for life experience, with items in numbers 1,2, 3 attached.
