Finance Fundamentals for Non-Financial Managers

Quickbooks

Learn Quickbooks and get a great start to managing your business or expanding your career opportunitiesObjective: Understand the basics of Quickbooks and how to apply to your organization

 Participants Will Be Taught:

  • Fast and easy ways to navigate Quickbooks
  • How to create company accounts and customize to suit a business
  • How to enter and pay bills, issue invoices and receive payments
  • How to use built-in reports and create customized financial reports

The Center for Workforce Development offers the following Project Management courses for those interested in pursuing CAPM® or PMP® certification or simply learning about project management related tools:

LEED® Green Associate Exam Prep

3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing

This course introduces the process of additive manufacturing utilizing 3D printing and presents an overview of the technologies and the advantages over traditional manufacturing methods.  Students will explore design procedures, material properties and modeling using CAD tools, specifically Autodesk Inventor. A sample product will be analyzed and a prototype modification will be modeled and printed on a Makerbot Replicator. Students will become familiar with the set-up and operation of the machine and be challenged to create a design submission and printing before the final class.  

3D Printing/Classroom Integration

AutoCAD Introductory Level

A course designed for those with no AutoCAD experience. This seminar is designed to acquaint the beginner with AutoCAD as a tool to create working drawings.  Topics will include the following: the AutoCAD menu structure, file creation, formatting, using object snaps, draw commands including lines, arcs, rectangle, polygons, and hatching. Modifying commands. Creation of blocks and templates, use of symbol libraries, concepts of model space and paper space are explored, as well as plotting drawings.

Hospitality for Health Care Professionals

Given the rapidly changing healthcare landscape, it is critical for health care employees at all levels to understand the best practices available to meet patients’ expectations and needs and be accountable for outcomes. Utilizing a combination of lecture, group discussion and role plays, this course, through this course participants will be taught:

  1. how to identify and respond to patients’ expectations at all points of contact using proven customer service techniques
  2. how to better communicate with each other and with the population served
  3. how to utilize self-management techniques and cognitive theory to be successful
  4. how to effectively adapt practices and processes to better meet patients’ needs.
