For drivers convicted in New York State or with a New York state driver’s license, you must register for the program at the Department of Motor Vehicles. If you were convicted in a different state and you do not have a New York license, we can register you directly for the program.
Building is behind the Lifetime Brands Building on Stewart Avenue. All classes are
held in room 205. Enter at the door to the left of BOCES main entrance.

The $233 fee is paid online, prior to the first class.
Some participants (not many) may be required to obtain a clinical assessment in order to fulfill DMV requirements. Your instructor will advise you during the second or third class, if this applies to you.
The NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) maintains a listing of approved evaluators or providers. From the navigation bar, click “Treatment,” then select “Search by Program.” Choose “Providers of Clinical Screening and Assessment Services for the Impaired Driving Offender” and follow the directions. Programs will appear first in the listing, followed by individual providers.
After attendance verification of 16 hours and no outstanding treatment records, your completion will be mailed. If your treatment is extended beyond the 7 weeks of class, contact the office via email IDP@ncc.edu when your treatment is completed.
If you have been dropped the fee for re-entering the program is $50 and possibly a return trip to DMV to re-enroll. Call or email the office for more information
If Nassau Community College classes are cancelled due to the weather, IDP classes are also cancelled. Class cancellations will be posted on the the top of the NCC website and with local media outlets.
