The Art Club provides an opportunity for students at NCC to further their artistic endeavors beyond the classroom setting. The club sponsors field trips to museums, galleries, events and foundations in New York City, New York State and beyond. Established and emerging artists are invited to the classroom to give technical demonstrations on studio techniques, and share professional practices with students, faculty and staff. The Art Club is involved with college wide events, fundraisers and community outreach. Membership is open to all students of NCC.
The purpose of the Computer Graphics Club is to offer graphic design services while giving Nassau Community College students the opportunity to better their skills and gain real life experience in the computer graphics field. Fundraisers are planned to benefit the Computer Graphics Club Scholarship. The club also plans several field trips to museums, design conferences, etc. All students enrolled in the current fall or spring semester in any area are eligible to join.
The Photo Club holds meetings almost every Tuesday during the Fall and Spring semesters in GC35 from 11:30am - 12:45pm during club hour. We invite guest photographers to address our group on a wide variety of topics, ranging from fine art photography to commercial techniques. Past guest lecturers have included well-known NYC-based artists, representatives from the Canson paper company, as well as recent NCC graduates speaking about their experiences at four-year colleges, as surf photographers, and as exhibiting artists. Each year the club generally plans and executes a fundraiser (using members' photos) to raise money for the Photo Club scholarship and also hold an on-campus exhibit of members' photos. The club takes several off-campus field trips to NYC galleries, museums, and photo conferences, and conventions. For additional information, please call the Photo Office at 516.572.7166.
