As the President of the Alumni Association of Nassau Community College, I want to share a message of HOPE. HOPE, in our context, signifies "Happiness in achieving our Objectives by Participating and by Elevating us to the highest standards we set for ourselves." The achievements we have made over the years at Nassau Community College speak volumes about our dedication and commitment.

I am immensely grateful and appreciative to have been re-elected as the President of the Alumni Association of Nassau Community College. During my first term, especially considering the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we made our presence known throughout the NCC community.

Our active participation in both on-campus and off-campus events this past year showcased our dedication to making a positive impact. We contributed to the Breast Cancer event, played a pivotal role in welcoming prospective students during the open house in October 2022, and continued our engagement with events like Homecoming/Alumni Day in November 2022 and the NCC Foundation Gala.

As we entered 2023, our presence on campus became even more pronounced. We enthusiastically supported both the men's and women's basketball teams in the Battle for Long Island against Suffolk Community College, celebrating victories for both Nassau teams. Our commitment extended to financial support for the Theater Department and our involvement in the Presidential Search Candidate meetings in March 2023. In April 2023, we held our Honoree Dinner, a memorable occasion that united the NCC community in honoring outstanding individuals. The positive feedback and ongoing interest in this event underscore its success.

In May, as the college year drew to a close, we attended the Presidential Awards Dinner, organized a membership drive for graduating students during cap and gown distribution, and celebrated the graduation ceremony at the end of May 2023.

Furthermore, in early June 2023, we conducted our Board elections and extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Corrinne Graham, Jack Walters, Carolyn Henry, Dr. Lynnda Nadien, and Sara Morrison on their re-election to the Alumni Association Board. We also extend a warm welcome to Ray Schwetz, our new treasurer, and bid farewell to Jay Goldfarb, our retiring treasurer, wishing him all the best.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire Alumni Board for actively participating and attending the events organized by Nassau Community College. Your dedication and involvement are instrumental in making our Alumni Association a resounding success.

I also want to extend our gratitude to Dr. Maria Conzatti, President of NCC, Dr. Rita Langdon, Rudell J. Breedy, and the entire foundation staff, as well as everyone at the college, for your unwavering support and assistance. Together, we are NCC ALUMNI ON THE MOVE.

With the deepest appreciation, I pledge to continue serving the Alumni Association of NCC to the best of my ability.

Warm regards,

Lori M. Jorge '98 President Alumni Association of Nassau Community College
