Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)

What is Middle States?

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that defines, maintains, and promotes educational excellence and quality across institutions with diverse missions, student populations, and resources. MSCHE is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and conducts accreditation and pre-accreditation activities for institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and any other geographic areas in which the Commission elects to conduct accrediting activities, including the evaluation of distance education and correspondence education programs offered at those institutions.

Nassau Community College (NCC) of the State University of New York has been accredited by MSCHE since 1967. MSCHE accreditation assures our students and the public of the educational quality of the college. NCC reaffirms its accreditation every 8 to 10 years.
