My name is Ryan Weisz and I currently work as an EMT responding to 911 emergency calls for Bayshore Brightwaters Ambulance, Brentwood Legion Ambulance and Medford Ambulance. Additionally, I serve as the second Assistant Chief of Exchange Ambulance of the Islips, where I assist in overseeing daily operators within the volunteer agency. As the COVID pandemic is primarily a respiratory illness, my time studying in the respiratory therapy program at NCC has prepared me to better serve my patients in this emergency setting.
My knowledge in pathophysiology and pharmacology for various respiratory illness has given prepared me to handle patients with COVID-19. One of my favorite quotes actually comes Dr. Dorian on the TV show "Scrubs:" You should consider yourself lucky if you even occasionally get to make someone, anyone, feel a little better.

Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
