Professor Robbie Rosen of the Music Department is an accomplished and published song writer and music producer.
"My mother was a professional singer for 26 years, so she instilled in me a passion
for music from a very early age. It was always my dream to become a recording artist,
songwriter, producer, and coach for other artists, and I'm very blessed to be living
out that dream. I was lucky enough to reach round 16 of "American Idol" while I was
still in high school. My experience on the program was life changing. I was able to
do what I love in front of millions of viewers, on one of the biggest stages, all
the while learning from and connecting with some of the best to ever do it in the
music industry (Steven Tyler, JLo, etc.). As a recording artist and songwriter, I'm
frequently asked to write and record toplines over producers' instrumentals, which
we then sign and release on various EDM record labels. As a producer, I often produce
tracks for other artists to release on their Spotify profiles. Lastly, as a coach,
I help mentor many up-and-coming artists in whichever areas they need assistance,
whether it's various musical aspects like vocal/production coaching and co-writing,
or such business tasks as pitching songs to record labels and helping to review contracts.
NCC has transformed my life in many ways. First and foremost, it's given me an opportunity
to share valuable lessons with so many wonderful students. I've also learned so much
from them along the way, which has added to the knowledge I'm able to pass on semester
to semester. Lastly, teaching at NCC has also given me confidence as an educator,
transitioning from teaching/coaching privately for many years, to teaching at the
college level, ever since I was a college student myself back in 2016. I would definitely
recommend Nassau Community College for students pursuing a career in music. There
are so many very knowledgeable, experienced professors here, who are not only active
in music today, but also truly care about their students finding their way in this
industry."

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
