I began working for the Theatre and Dance Department as a part-time Technical Assistant in the summer of 1988. I became a full-time faculty member January of 1989. As a technical director, I'm responsible for overseeing the technical needs of our theatre productions. This includes designing and programming lighting and sound, scenery construction and providing one on one instruction to our theatre students in the discipline of technical theatre.
Honestly, it's hard to pin down my fondest memory since we have done so many memorable productions. However, I would have to say it was the Theatre and Dance Department's 50-year reunion party that we held in the Multipurpose Room of the College Center Building on Campus in 2015.
Perhaps one of our most esteemed alumni, Billy Crystal, joined faculty and students past and present in celebrating decades of friendship and experiences. To see and speak with so many of our former students and hear of their successes and even their pitfalls was an extraordinary experience.
What makes NCC special to me is what makes the theatre special to me. They are both a place for anyone to be who they want to be and discover other people who share their passion and goals.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
