I have been a faculty member at NCC for the past 27 years, teaching Fundamentals of Nursing, and am a proud graduate of the NCC nursing program myself. I'm also a geriatric nurse practitioner and have made presentations on advance directives, aging and social change and conflict resolution, among others. My membership in the Black Nurse Association, Nurse Practitioners of Long Island, and the National League for Nurses is important to me. In 1983, I established a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and continue to provide health teaching in the Nassau County and Brooklyn communities.

For the past few years, I have enjoyed providing health information on "Your Family’s Health" on WHPC, the voice of Nassau Community College. It's a weekly podcast with special guests from around the country discussing health care issues and trends. It's special to me to mentor nurses who are completing their master's degree in nursing. I'm grateful to pay excellence in nursing forward to the future generation of nurses.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
