Congratulations to Dione Spence-Wisdom, another of our five SUNY Nassau students who received a SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence. We will be profiling each of our student winners in the coming weeks.
Chancellor's Award recipients are honored for their outstanding achievements within many aspects of their lives such as academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service or the arts. It is the highest honor bestowed upon a student by SUNY.
"I am indeed honored to receive the prestigious SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence. I want to first thank God for this opportunity and then thank the dedicated, knowledgeable and hardworking professors at SUNY Nassau Community College. SUNY Nassau has phenomenal professors who have helped me become a leader, educator, change agent and advocate for all my patients and their families. This award is as much theirs as it is mine."

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
