I am an adjunct Nursing professor at and alumna of Nassau Community College. In addition, I'm a Clinical Nurse Manager at a State Veterans Home, managing two units that are designated COVID19 units. Some of my responsibilities include promoting and restoring patients' health; enforcing adherence to CMS and DOH regulations; maintaining the nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and orienting; and providing support for patients' families and loved ones.
Although the COVID19 pandemic is by far the greatest challenge of my 31-year nursing career, I have never been prouder to be a nurse. I received my Nursing degree from NCC in 1989. The College gave me the highest quality education and career preparation for such a time as this.
Nassau Community College provided me with a fundamental understanding of the field of nursing, including real-life experience and the standards of nursing practice. Some of my favorite memories include all of my clinical rotations, being a part of the Nursing Club, and the friendships I made that have lasted a lifetime.
I am forever grateful for the tremendous start to my nursing education at Nassau Community College. It is a pleasure to give back to the profession of nursing by now educating future nurses at the College.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
