Spring 2024 Commencement Celebration
Nassau Community College is proud to announce we will be celebrating our graduates
and their achievements with a commencement ceremony at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum
on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 7:00pm. Graduates will need to arrive by 6:00pm.

Commencement Live Stream
Students
Graduates must bring their NCC ID to the Commencement Ceremony.
Order your Cap and Gown:
Beginning Friday, March 1, 2024, custom designed keepsake academic regalia will be available to order.
- To order your regalia, click on the “Cap and Gown Order Now” tab.
- You will be asked to enter your Nassau ID # (N00123456) to continue access to the
ordering site.
- Your academic regalia is included as part of the Consolidated Fee.
- There is no additional charge for the souvenir attire -- the cap, gown, hood, and
tassel are yours to keep.
- Students can choose to pick up their regalia at the NCC bookstore beginning Wednesday, May 8, 2024, or have it shipped to them for an additional shipping fee.
- The last date to place an order for store pick up is Friday, March 22, 2024.
- The last day to place an order for home shipping is Friday, April 26, 2024.
Two ways to obtain your Cap/Gown:
- Pick up your cap and gown at the NCC Bookstore, located on Duncan Avenue next to Building
V.
- The last day to place an order for store pickup is Friday, March 22, 2024.
- The first day for pickup is Wednesday, May 8, 2024 and the last day is Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
- You will need to bring a photo ID when picking up your regalia.
- Have your cap and gown shipped to you (out of pocket shipping charges will be applied).
- The last day to place an order for home shipping is Friday, April 26, 2024.
- Orders placed for home shipping will ship within 2-3 weeks from order date.
- All shipping orders will have shipping updates emailed to the student’s NCC email
address.
Note: If you have not ordered regalia online by the online order deadline of Friday, April
26, 2024, you may obtain a cap and gown package at the NCC Bookstore starting Wednesday,
May 8, 2024 with a photo ID. Available sizes and options will be on a first come first
served basis.
Guests & Ticketing
Graduates participating in Commencement with regalia do not need a ticket to attend,
however, tickets will be required for guests to attend the ceremony.
Each Graduate will have 8 tickets available.
To order tickets:
- Click on the Ticketmaster link.
- In the upper right-hand corner of the website click “Sign In”.
- At the top of the page where it reads “New to Ticketmaster?” click “Sign Up”. You
must sign up for a Ticketmaster account using your NCC student e-mail address in order to access your tickets.
- Follow the steps provided to create a new account.
- Once you have completed the sign up and log in you will be able to manage your tickets
through a mobile device and send them via text message or e-mail to all attendees.
If you have difficulty signing up for or logging in to Ticketmaster, or if you have
trouble managing your tickets once log in is complete, please contact boxoffice@nassaucoliseum.com for assistance.
Parking
There is no charge to park at the Coliseum on the day of Commencement.
Where to Go
Nassau Community College’s 2024 Commencement Ceremony will be held at Nassau Veterans
Memorial Coliseum at 1255 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale, NY, on Wednesday, May 22nd
at 7:00 pm. Graduates should arrive by 6:00 pm.
Graduates must enter the Coliseum through the Grand Thornton VIP entrance (Gate 10)
and go immediately down the escalators to the Exhibition Hall on the lower level.
At this location you will be grouped with fellow Graduates in the Line of March. Photographs
will be taken and name cards completed. Entry to the lower level of the Coliseum is
restricted to the Candidates for Graduation only.
Ticketed guests should park in the main parking lot and enter through the Geico Main
Entrance (directly next to the Grand Thornton VIP entrance). Guests should go immediately
to the seating area in the Coliseum Arena.
Please refer to the Coliseum’s website regarding re-entry and prohibited items.
Your Name Will be Announced
A highlight of graduation is the introduction of each candidate during the Line of
March. Graduates will be given an identification card when they arrive at the Coliseum
on Wednesday, May 22nd. Note that the card permits a phonetic spelling of their name.
It is suggested that Graduates use phonetics to simplify and ensure the accuracy
of the pronunciation of their name. A televised image will be projected on the four-sided
Jumbotron above the arena floor.
Photographs
With the Graduate’s approval, they will be photographed at the Coliseum before the
ceremony by a professional photographer. The photographer will be stationed on the
lower level of the Coliseum. Photograph proofs will be sent to their home for optional
purchase.
Commencement Program
Graduates from August and December of 2023, and any graduate candidate for May 2024
who applied for graduation before the February 26th deadline, will have their name
included in this year’s Commencement Program.
If you would like to confirm that you have a graduation application on file, log in
to your MyNCC Student Portal; click on Student Academic; click on View Graduation
Application.
Please note that pending August 2024 graduates are invited to participate in the May
2024 ceremony if they have already applied for graduation, but they will not be listed
in the Commencement Program. These Graduates will be listed in the May 2025 Commencement
Program.
Receiving Your Diploma
Diplomas will be mailed 6 to 8 weeks after the certification of degrees. An email
will be sent to your NCC student email account once your diploma has been ordered.

Congratulations on joining a network of successful individuals who are proud to call
themselves Nassau Community College graduates! Applications are available online for
you to join the NCC Alumni Association.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How many tickets will each Graduate receive?

Tickets will be available in mid-April. Each Graduate will have 8 tickets available for guests to attend the ceremony. Tickets
are issued through Ticketmaster. Once the site goes live in mid-April, please follow
the directions below to secure your tickets. Graduates participating in the ceremony
with regalia do not need a ticket to attend.

Yes, graduates are free to line up with and sit with their friends at Commencement,
there is no requirement to stay with your program of study during the ceremony.
- Do I have to pay for parking at the Coliseum?

There is no charge to park at the Coliseum on the day of Commencement.
- How long is the ceremony?

Approximately 2 hours total.
- Who is eligible to walk in the May 2024 Commencement Ceremony?

Graduates from August 2023, December 2023, and graduate candidates from May 2024 are
all eligible to walk during the ceremony. August 2024 graduate candidates may also
walk during the ceremony as long as they have applied for graduation.
- Will my name be in the Commencement Program?

Graduates from August and December of 2023, and any graduate candidate for May 2024
who applied for graduation before the February 26th deadline, will have their name
included in this year’s Commencement Program.
- What If I’m going to graduate in August 2024? Can I walk in the May ceremony?

August 2024 graduate candidates may walk in the May ceremony as long as they have
applied for graduation. August 2024 candidate names will not appear in this year’s
Commencement Program, they will appear in the Commencement Program for 2025.
- How do I order regalia (cap and gown)?

To order your Cap and Gown:
- Go to the Herff Nassau website.
- Click on the “Order Now” button under “Cap & Gown”
- Enter your Nassau ID # (N00------) in the search field and click “Search”
- When your name appears, click on“Congratulations! Order your graduation products here!” (If your name does not appear
please follow up with Registrar to confirm that you applied for graduation. Please
note that there may be a delay from the time you apply for graduation to when you
may order your graduation regalia.)
- From the “Select an option” drop down menu choose 1 of 2 options:
- Option 1: Pick up Cap and Gown at Bookstore
- Once selected, the Ceremony Date and Degree Type will be shown. Click on “SHOP”
- Choose the “Cap & Gown” tab
- The first choice “Graduation Regalia” includes a Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Hood. There
is no charge for these items. (Please note that other options/packages selected may incur an additional charge.)
- Click “Click to Show Contents”
- Click “View Full Details”
- Fill out your information and click “Add to Cart” when you are finished

- Is there a fee for regalia (cap and gown)?

The cap, gown, hood and tassel are included in the all-purpose fee. There is no additional
charge for these items, and they are yours to keep.
- Is Commencement accessible for people with mobility impairments?

All seating is General Admission. Accessible accommodations are available for any
guest who requires it during the ceremony. Please visit the Guest Services window
inside the Coliseum’s main entrance after your ticket is scanned. A Coliseum staff
member will assist with seating.
- Will there be an ASL interpreter during the ceremony?

Yes, there will be 2 ASL interpreters on the left side of the stage. If you need assistance
please see a staff member at the ceremony.
- Who will speak at Commencement?
-
This year we have a special keynote speaker, Steven Bandrowczak, the CEO of Xerox,
and a Nassau Community College alum. Along with our keynote speaker, Dr. Maria Conzatti,
our Chief Administrative Officer, a representative from Nassau County, The President
of the Student Government and the Valedictorian of the class of 2024 will all speak
during the ceremony.
- Will my name be read at the ceremony?

Yes, the Commencement Ceremony will be live-streamed, a link will be posted on the
Commencement website prior to the ceremony on May 22.
- Will graduates have an opportunity to take professional portraits?

With the student’s approval, they will be photographed at the Coliseum before the
ceremony by a professional photographer. Photograph proofs will be sent to their
home for optional purchase.
- When do I receive my diploma?

Diplomas will be mailed 6 to 8 weeks after certification of degree. Check your NCC

- What should I wear to Commencement?

Graduates are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, especially comfortable footwear
to the ceremony. There will be a lot of standing and walking during the 2-hour ceremony.
- How can I get involved with the NCC Alumni Association?
